This week’s the first installment of what we’re calling the WNUR.org Weekly Update. In it, we’re gonna tell you guys all the exciting things we’ve done with the site, and we might even tease some new things coming on the horizon.
Our deployment of the site caused some problems with the playlist system, but full playlist access from the main menu-bar should be implemented by the end of this weekend. All of the playlists from when the system was inaccessible should be available at that time. We greatly appreciate the patience of WNUR’s listeners as we’ve been sorting out these issues.
I’m also excited to say we’re archiving shows on the WNUR website for the first time in, well, ever. It’s a feature we’ve gotten a lot of requests for, and we’re going to be expanding it and rolling it out for more shows throughout the year. We’re using a site called Mixcloud to post the shows, which allows us to link an MP3 of a show with a time-stamped playlist. It’s a really cool site, so check it out—and make sure to tell your friends about the great stuff we’re posting.
We have a second week of More Bounce available for your rump-shaking pleasure, as well as a post-punk playlist from Ethan and Ezra at The Rock Show and a bonus set devoted to Bauhaus. In the next couple days, we’re also going to be uploading a two-and-a-half hour psych rock marathon by Dan, music director at The Rock Show, and his co-DJ Adam. Some rad stuff, but trust me—it’s only the start.
Finally, a note to our community about the past few weeks:
WNUR’s web team has gotten a lot of feedback over the past few weeks—both positive and negative—and every word of it has been immensely helpful to us. WNUR’s greatest asset is its community, as evidenced by the passionate response we’ve heard from both fans and the yet-to-be-converted. As always, we’re humbled and honored by the passion of the people we’ve spoken with. Without our listeners, we’re just a bunch of college kids screwing around in the studio, so thanks for your continued support.
The fun’s just getting started. Stay tuned.
