1.21.07: ROGER BONAIR-AGARD

Roger Bonair-Agard is a native of Trinidad and Tobago and a professional performance poet. He has appeared three times on Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam on HBO and performed and facilitated writing and performance workshops at colleges, universities and high schools around the country. He is also the winner of the 1999 National Poetry Slam. Roger's work has been widely anthologized in numerous poetry collections. He has authored a successful one-man show, And Chaos Congealed (1998) and the acclaimed one-man poetry concert MASQUERADE: poems of calypso and home (2006). He is the co-author of Burning Down the House (2000) and his most recent book of poetry, both recorded and written, is Tarnish and Masquerade (2006).
