Featherproof Books is a brand-new indie publisher based in Chicago, dedicated to the small-press ideals of finding fresh, urban voices ignored by the conglomerates. It is run by Zach Dodson and Jonathan Messinger. Featherproof publishes downloadable mini-books and perfect-bound, full-length works of fiction. The mini-books are carefully designed short stories and novellas that may be downloaded from their website, printed and constructed by the reader, inviting all ten fingers to take part in the book-making process. Featherproof's next title, scheduled for September 2006, will be Sons of the Rapture by Todd Dills, editor of THE2NDHAND.

Brian Costello grew up in Unincorporated Seminole County, Florida. He teaches fiction at Columbia College in Chicago, drums for punk-rock stalwarts The Functional Blackouts and hosts "The Brian Costello Show with Brian Costello," America's First and Only Live Talk Show. The Enchanters vs. Sprawlburg Springs is his first novel.
