About The Lit Show

The Lit Show is broadcast every Sunday evening from 5:30PM to 6:00PM on WNUR 89.3FM Chicago and worldwide on the internet at http://www.wnur.org.

The Lit Show brings the world's best contemporary literature to a wide and diverse audience.

As a part of the Chicago literary community, we strive to promote the work of lesser-known area writers. We feel that the publishing industry has inadvertently buried many forthcoming literary figures from the eyes of an interested public. In response to this, we feature writers from small presses and local literary venues on a regular basis.

As a part of the world literary community, we hope to shed new light on well-known contemporary authors through in-depth interviews and unique features. Chicago plays host to major figures in the writing arts on a regular basis. Thanks to the generous support of many of the city's major cultural institutions, we are often able to bring them on the show.

In the past, The Lit Show has featured such widely-published authors as Margaret Atwood, Susan Orlean, and Billy Collins. We have also hosted local literary figures such as David Driscoll and Bill Savage. We have profiled literary organizers such as Marc Kelly Smith, who, besides writing and performing his own poetry, brings together other poets at the Green Mill Slam Poetry Series here in Chicago.

The Lit Show is hosted and produced by Chris Adamson, Jasmine Nazek, and Jamie Chapin. Interviews are conducted by the producers and various contributors.
