GENERAL COMMENTS
- Our day-long Coltrane tribute Monday was a big success. Thanks
to Jason Guthartz for organizing it, to everyone who brought in
records, DJ'ed, and otherwise helped out, and to everyone who called
or wrote with compliments and suggestions. And of course to the
spirit of the late John Coltrane, who made so much beautiful music in
his cut short life that we could only play the tiniest fraction of it
in the eighteen hours we had.
- Thanks to Jim Zanghi for filling in as music director during the
month of August. Our fall programming is about to get underway and
I'm just about back in the swing of things shortly as far as answering
E-mail, adding music, and so forth; please get in touch if you were
expecting to hear from me about something or are wondering about a
release you've sent us. As always: jazz-md@wnur.org.
