WNUR Jazz Report, 2/18/96
Reports compiled by:

Director / jazz-md@wnur.org
Comments
- Most of the adds this week consist of new & fairly straightahead
music, with the notable exceptions of Chris Cutler, Curlew, Miriodor,
David S. Ware. The 3 Cuneiform/ReR CD's are of mixed genre and
eventually will find a happy home in our crossover drawer.
- John Corbett interviewed Joe McPhee on the air via phone on
Monday. McPhee will be performing at the Empty Bottle on
Wednesday. The other interviews mentioned on earlier jazz reports
will happen. It's taking a while to coordinate everyone.
- The Saturday live performance featuring Jim Baker and Damon
Short went well, despite some extra hum from Jim's ARP. Joe Germuska
DJ'ed and Evelyn Darling engineered along with some others. Jim
played his ARP and keyboard; Damon played vibes and drums. Jim &
Damon will be performing again at the Lunar Cabaret this Wednesday at
9 PM. If anyone can suggest any musicians to book on WNUR's Airplay
(Saturday 4-7 PM), just drop us a line. We need about 2 months
advance to book the event. This is strictly for publicity. We cannot
offer money to the musicians, but we will provide a DAT recording. A
recent request for Fred Anderson has been noted, and we'll probably
have him in at some point this spring or summer.
