Comments
- In last week's special report, I listed
the Jazz Show's favorite 40 of 1995. Beginning Monday, 1/29/96, WNUR's
jazz show will feature the top 10 on this list over the next 2 weeks
by focusing on one CD per day, beginning with #10 on Monday and
counting down to #1 on the following Friday. Should be fun.
- A few very brief comments about the new music. 1) I really dig
the new Wallace Roney CD. Outstanding rhythm section backing him up
2) Mick Karn isn't exactly jazz. It's going into our "crossover
drawer" where music not belonging to a distinct genre is kept. 3)
Psychedelic Steppenwolves is strictly spoken word with a jazz
background 4) Francis Wong's CD features local musicians Tatsu Aoki
and Bradley Parker Sparrow. 5) Art Blakey CD is a new reissue.
