    The Madison Music Collective (MMC) functions to tie together
people who either perform jazz and improvised music, or enjoy
listening to it.  Many of the members do both.  There are a
little over 100 dues-paying members. <P>

     People in the MMC write grants, and the MMC puts on several
concerts throughout the year.  A recent series was entitled "Jazz
in the Neighborhoods" and was just that... free performances in
Madison neighborhood settings.  There is also an annual MMC Jazz
Festival. <P>

     There is a monthly meeting that deals with concerts such as
these, newsletter topics, etc., and runs 1-2 hours.  The meetings
take place once per month... see the Calendar for date and
location. <P>

     A one year membership to the MMC costs $20 (family) or $15
(general), and gets you the monthly newsletter, and a discount
into some concerts (marked on the calendar like $5/4... members
pay the lower amount).  The monthly newsletter contains articles
related to jazz and the monthly jazz listings formatted in the
form of a calendar, suitable for refrigerator attachment.  For a
