Today’s Track of the Day comes to us from Doug Kaplan, guitarist for The Earth is a Man and long-time friend of the station. Doug writes:

Papa M is just one of Dave Pajo’s many brilliant projects. He was an integral part of the post-rock scene in the ’90s that emerged out of Louisville (his homeland) and Chicago (our homeland). He was a founding member of Slint, had a two-album stint in Tortoise and has also played with Will Oldham, Stereolab, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Interpol. Pajo has adopted many M-centric monikers (see also: Aerial M, M Is The Thirteenth Letter) to release his more homespun, guitar-driven work; today‚Äôs track, which was recorded with the assistance of Stereolab’s Tim Gane, is from the album Live From A Shark Cage, a 1999 release on Drag City. Regardless of where you look, it’s hard to go wrong with any of Pajo’s diverse and prolific output.

Doug will also be performing at WNUR’s Sonic Celluloid next Friday, May 18, with his drone project Good Willsmith. You’re not gonna want to miss it.

Hey, don't be a jerk on the internet.
