Papa M is just one of Dave Pajo’s many brilliant projects. He was an integral part of the post-rock scene in the ’90s that emerged out of Louisville (his homeland) and Chicago (our homeland). He was a founding member of Slint, had a two-album stint in Tortoise and has also played with Will Oldham, Stereolab, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Interpol. Pajo has adopted many M-centric monikers (see also: Aerial M, M Is The Thirteenth Letter) to release his more homespun, guitar-driven work; today’s track, which was recorded with the assistance of Stereolab’s Tim Gane, is from the album Live From A Shark Cage, a 1999 release on Drag City. Regardless of where you look, it’s hard to go wrong with any of Pajo’s diverse and prolific output.
