WNUR Alumni Organization Awards Second Annual Willis L. Butler Leadership Prize
 2002 Leadership Award Recipient
Marc Flury,
General Manager 2001-02 and
senior (class of 03) in Computer Science
Congratulations to Marc Flury, the 2002
winner of the WNUR Alumni Organization's "Willis L. Butler
Leadership Award." Marc, a junior (class of 2003) in
Northwestern's Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and
Applied Science, was WNUR's General Manager during the 2001-02
year.
The Butler Leadership Award is given by the
WNUR Alumni Organization to a student who has shown "quiet and
strong leadership in furthering WNUR." Many honors are
determined by faculty nomination. WNUR, however, is different.
The nominations for the award originate with the student
executive board who sends a list of recommendations of fellow
students that they consider to be the best leaders in the
station. Marc was chosen as the station's best leader by his
fellow students.
Marc
received a check and certificate of recognition at the School of
Speech Honors Convocation. His name is engraved on the enduring
plaque which hangs in WNUR's lobby.
The Willis L. Butler Leadership Award was
conceived in the year 2000 by the WNUR Alumni Organization and
its inaugural governing board. A number of Alumni and friends
have contributed to the Award, which is now in its second year.
Congratulations Marc!!
