INITIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
You’re On the Air!
WNUR Alumni Group Needs Your Involvement
EVANSTON, July 20, 2000 (Special to
WNUR)--Following on the terrific success of the WNUR
50th Anniversary Reunion, former staff members of the
nation’s largest college radio station announced
formation of a permanent alumni group.
Called the WNUR Alumni Organization
(www.wnur.org/alumsite),
the group seeks to “promote professional, intellectual
and social ties among WNUR alumni,” according to
Stephen B. Rudolph (Speech ’75), chair of the group’s
provisional executive board.
“Everybody receiving this e-mail
notice is invited to join our group--in fact you’re
already members!” said Rudolph. All former staff
members of WNUR automatically will be members of the
alumni organization.
For now, the WNUR Alumni
Organization is focusing on filling out its governing
board and planning such activities as job networking,
student mentoring and social events.
“We need people to get
involved--now,” said Helen Kriz Marshall (GS ’78),
who chaired the wildly successful 50th Reunion.
Rudolph says the governing board
will mostly meet by e-mail and/or conference call. “You
can be involved regardless of where you live,” he
says.
Interested? E-mail Rudolph at wnuralumni@wnur.org
to volunteer or ask any questions.
A draft constitution for the WNUR
Alumni Organization is posted at www.wnur.org/alumsite.
The group hopes to adopt its
constitution and formalize election of officers by the
end of September.
