In case you missed this Friday’s Sonic Celluloid event at the Block, here’s a chance to listen to some of what you missed. Autumn Drones opened the night with a great score to Stan Brakhage’s “Prelude: Dog Star Man.” He posted it to his Soundcloud, so here it is in its entirety:
After the jump, an embed of the film so you can sync them up at home.
Not that you needed the reminder, but Sonic Celluloid is tomorrow, Friday, May 9. This year, we’re excited to welcome Madalyn Merkey, Expo 70 and Autumn Drones to the Block Cinema, where they’ll be providing live alongside experimental films they selected. Event starts at 8 PM; $4 for NU students, $6 for everyone else.
For more info, check the Facebook event. It’s gonna be a rad time, so we’ll see you there!
Check out the first installment of Dancing Astronaut, which broadcasts biweekly as part of the Handpicked block. It’s off this week, but listen next Tuesday at 9:00 PM.

Danish singer-songwriter Nana Jacobi spoke with Continental Drift last quarter. Her most recent album, Visitors, dropped last year. Check out the interview below.
Don’t miss this extended footwork set that aired on Streetbeat earlier in the week, featuring DJ Earl, DJ Phil and DJ Heavee D. Dummy called it “bananas,” which seems more or less appropriate. It’s rad stuff. Check out both parts below.
